Within a circle, citing the ʿAbbasid caliph al-Nasir li-din Allah (AH 575-622 / AD 1180-1225), ‘al-minnat lillāh / al-imām al-Nāṣir / li-dīn Allāh amīr / al-muʾminīn (‘Gratefulness be to Allah. Imam al-Nasir li-din Allah, Commander of the Believers’ in Arabic); in the margin, ‘bism Allāh al-raḥmān ḍuriba hādhā al-dirham bi Qayṣariyya sana thalāth wa sitta miʾa’ (‘In the name of Allah, the Beneficent. This dirham was struck in Qaysariyya in the year 603’ in Arabic). Rev. Within a circle, ‘al-sulṭān al-muʿaẓẓam / Ghiyāth al-Dunyā wa al-Dīn / Abu’l-Fatḥ Kaykhusraw / ibn Qilij Arslān’ (‘the Great Sultan Ghiyath al-Dunya wa al-Din Abu’l-Fath Kay Khusraw son of Qilij Arslan’ in Arabic); in the margin, ‘arsalahū bi al-hudā wa dīn al-ḥaqq liyuẓhirahū ʿalā al-dīn kullih wa law kariha al-mushrikūn’ (‘He [i.e. Allah] sent him [i.e. Muhammad] with guidance and the religion of truth, so that He may make it overcome all religions, even though the unbelievers may dislike it’ in Arabic).
